English Heritage maintains certain sites considered to be of national importance. It aims to help people understand and appreciate that historic buildings and landscapes around them matter. There are charges to enter these sites. Their website is rather slow - you can avoid this by using their 'accessible site' which is much faster.

Kew Bridge Steam Museum is operated by an independent charity and in the year 2000 celebrated its 25th anniversary. We have been designated an Engineering Heritage Hallmark Site by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.
